It's official!
BMW has announced it will be offering a U.S. version of its 335d sedan with a diesel engine. The fuel economy for the vehicle, thanks to the diesel, is 23 mpg in the city and 33 on the highway. The urea injection system will help the car pass EPA and other environmentalists' inspections.
Yeah, yeah, important figures for the masses, but what about us enthusiasts? Well, the in-line-6 engine has twin turbochargers that generates 265 horsepower. That's HEMI territory. Nice.
BMW has not officially said what model year will the new engine makes its entrance in the states. Speculation is betting either late 2009 or 2010.
